Armed with our tent, a camera and our backpacks, Mel and I went to this underrated island in Zambales called Talisayin. Zambales is our go-to destination when we need a slow days from the hassle life in the metro. Anawangin, Nagsasa and Capones were the islands we are able to explore way way back. This time, in the laid back cove, Talisayin.
We were not able to book ahead of time the bus trip going to San Antonio so we waited more likely 3 hours as chance passengers. We arrived the town passed 4 already and sailed the sea for 45 minutes to get to Talisayin. Our tent was set up before the sun down.
We woke up to a magical pastel morning, did some photo shoots, ate our easy breakfast - sandwich, bacon and boiled banana we prepared from Manila and explored the island after. We went to this viewing deck located at the left side of the cove and we were amazed how beautiful the entire place from afar.
We trekked the way up to the viewing deck. It was so breathtaking being up there. We're able to see the entire island with the calming silence of nature away from the rest of the world. And what's great about Talisayin is it's unpopular to the tourist, so lesser people. It's an entirely a different experience from the other islands in Zambales.
We left the Talisayin Cove around 7 in the morning and went to the beach side of Capones island. We submerged ourselves into seawater. I always feel refreshed by the sea, even if I only hop in for few hours, then listen to the nature for the rest of the day. There is something so incredibly enchanting about it, maybe the a magical shade of blue that we don’t usually see in everyday life. I can absolutely trade mainland for a simpler way of life like this.
